​Getting your Florida Marriage License is the first official step before saying “I do.” Below are the most common questions couples ask, answered clearly and simply to make your process stress-free.

​​Where do we get our Marriage License in Florida?
You can visit any courthouse in Florida. Local couples usually go to Orange County Courthouse in Orlando — 425 N. Orange Ave., Room 350.

What do we bring to the courthouse?
Both partners must bring valid photo ID: Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport.

How much does a Marriage License cost?
The cost is $86 in Florida (unless you take the premarital course, which gives a discount).

Is there a waiting period?
Yes. For Florida residents, there is a 3-day waiting period. Out-of-state residents have no waiting period.

How long is the marriage license valid?
Your license expires 60 days after it is issued.

Do we need witnesses?
No — Florida does not require witnesses, though you may include them if you want.

Can the officiant file the license for us?
Yes! Nancy files all licenses within 24 hours.

Do you provide Spanish or bilingual license information?
